Being around Nature and enjoying its beauty is an inspiring moment to meet new people and reflect on our connectivity with our closest human and natural community.
The organizing team is pleased to invite you to join a 3hr event where you will get to know Het Kloosterbos forest and the “Faire Cabane” tree house, both located at Landgoed Eikenburg. As part of this event, all participants will cook and taste a delicious soup prepared by all together.
Some description of this event and initiatives
Het Kloosterbos is a unique and long-term rewilding project, initiated by residents of the Eikenburg Kloosterlofts. It aims to repair a patch of Eikenburg’s landscape and return it to a natural state of inviting hospitality where local citizens can develop a new relationship with this local ecosystem. A relationship based on equality, freedom and unconditional mutual hospitality. During the visit to the garden, you will hear from Leo, current kwartiermaker, its deep intentions and enjoy the beauty of this pleisterplaats (way station) while foraging some natural ingredients for the soup!!
Inspired by Het Kloosterbos, the initiative “Faire Cabane” was born and founded six months ago by two DAE students. It is a tree house in the quiet forest close to Het Kloosterbos, which aims to become a space that fosters togetherness, collaborative building and integrates itself in a network of existing social/local spaces. It is a wooden building under construction which with the dedication of its members is becoming a unique place to meet, share and listen to new ideas. During this event, Francesca Tambussi, current guardian, will tell all about the concept behind it and its current members. Maybe this inspires you to join them.
Tickets: Your chosen entrée price will be directly donated to these two projects.
Some practicalities
We will meet at the entrance of Het Kloosterbos located at Eikenburglaan (200 m from the main entrance at the Aalsterweg). Please come walking, by bike or by using public transportation. Bicycles can be parked at HKB, bus stop Aalsterweg or at the Theo Koomenlaan (Indoor Sportcentrum). Car parking is also possible at P2 (follow signage), walk through forest to Het Kloosterbos.
You need to bring a bowl and spoon to enjoy the cooked soup, a mug to drink tea and something else to share with the rest (e.g. bread, butter, fruits, etc).
